This is how my grandmother would call the city where I live, while trying to explain to any other Spanish grandmother where her granddaughter is. I must say, for old people Birmingham is a hard word to pronounce!
Hi everybody! I'm back after a month of travelling and nice holidays with my family and friends. I charged all the batteries to bring you some nice pics and more information about the city :) This time, I want to show you that this city is not only about industries and awful and dark places. You have lots of green places to relax when you feel bored of all the city life, when you feel stressed or just want to breath some fresh air. Or -also- taking some green and colourful pictures!
Every area or suburb has its own green space: a big park, a small lake, a piece of the canals... Whatever! But there's always some nature around!
I haven't been in all the areas around Birmingham, but today I'm bringing you some pictures of the parks, canals or lakes I've already been to. You will see that, even in the heart of the city, or on your way to work, you could find green spaces to scape from the rush.
This pictures have been taken in Harborne, Cannon Hill Park, Northfield, city centre and Edgbaston. Although I've heard really nice things about Sutton Park or Lickey Hills -I hope I could visit them soon!

So please don't underestimate your area. I'm sure you'll find very lovely places to spend a relaxing afternoon or to have a funny picnic with your friends or family. Now that the sun has set and it's quite cold to go outside, take a cup of tea and chill out checking this photos :)

A rock might be useless, we all know that. But an inscription on a rock could last forever. So careful with whatever you engrave on it!
In Birmingham you can find inscriptions on benches, but also in hidden stones that you might not see if you don't like mud tracks, like the one there is between Selly Oak and Harborne (Bourn Brook Walkaway).

"When you only see one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you"

I'm not sure if this is a verse of the Bible, but I think somebody chose the right place to place it. You will never walk alone through Bourn Brook, even if you go at night when there is no light at all!

This inscription reminded me of a picture I took on 2014. This time, the inscription is on a trunk. I found it while exploring some parks close to Northfield - it may be Senneleys Park or somewhere else around Frankley. 

"We play our games and the sky goes on"

I think the figure of the squid is just amazing, I wouldn't expect something like that in a city that has nothing to do with the sea. And of course, I love the message and the place it was located... 

Please, always walk with your eyes wide open, because you never know what you could be missing out there!
