Today was one of those days...

When you leave home, you think "Oh, no. This rain again". What rain? The one that goes everywhere with the wind, that is so small that you barely feel it, and suddenly, you're soaked. Your hair doesn't make any sense, your nice clothes are wet and of course your mood makes things get worse.

Spring is here. Yep. If the weather is bad in the UK yet, spring drives you crazy. You never know what the day is going to bring you. If at daybreak it is sunny, you know it won't last, but if the day starts with the Holly rain, you won't know if it's going to snow, to be windy, to be sunny, or if you won't see the sunlight in a week.

But well, even when it rains during your way to work, you keep thinking of that one and only day when it was sunny and beautiful and you wanted to lay on the grass and quit and never work again.

But then you realize you live in the UK and you totally forget about it.

So here you go, a picture of my way to work from today, compared to the one I took two days ago, when it was an amazing day. Exactly the same place. This has been taken in the walkway between the Queen Elisabeth Hospital and the University of Birmingham -you can even spot the Biosciences building.

A rock might be useless, we all know that. But an inscription on a rock could last forever. So careful with whatever you engrave on it!
In Birmingham you can find inscriptions on benches, but also in hidden stones that you might not see if you don't like mud tracks, like the one there is between Selly Oak and Harborne (Bourn Brook Walkaway).

"When you only see one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you"

I'm not sure if this is a verse of the Bible, but I think somebody chose the right place to place it. You will never walk alone through Bourn Brook, even if you go at night when there is no light at all!

This inscription reminded me of a picture I took on 2014. This time, the inscription is on a trunk. I found it while exploring some parks close to Northfield - it may be Senneleys Park or somewhere else around Frankley.

I think the figure of the squid is just amazing, I wouldn't expect something like that in a city that has nothing to do with the sea. And of course, I love the message and the place it was located... 

Please, always walk with your eyes wide open, because you never know what you could be missing out there!

Welcome to curiosity world!

Some of you know how much I love taking pictures. Even better, you know I really LOVE writing, and both things at the same time are just wonderful. So yes, I could not be still anymore.

It has been one and a half year since I moved to Birmingham. Most of you may think this city has not got a lot to offer, that it is industrial and ugly, and there is nothing to do - but I MUST say: this city keeps surprising me every single day. You never know when you are going to find something new, even in your way to work, something that has been always there and you did not realised before. You never know what kind of new people you are going to meet, or if the ones you already know are going to amaze you. 

Occasional sunny days, small details, landscapes, events, people... These are some of the things I want to share with you, and you will get one picture per day. Because, my dear friend, Birmingham is not only a nice library, some canals, universities and dark streets.
